Please view the menu on: https://www.wildharvestkingisland.com.au/menukingisland

Our story within Wild Harvest is simple: It is all about the abundance of food within our region, King Island. Sea to Table, Paddock to Plate, in the pathway of the roaring 40s, a microcosm of everything pure; vegetable growers, beef, lamb, dairy, fish, crayfish, abalone, oysters.

Seasonal changes dictate culinary delights and are harvested and gathered under the restaurant banner of Wild Harvest. Our chefs transform the culinary delights of King Island into a gastronomical dining experience.

The ambience of the restaurant tells a story from the past to the future with a blend of new and old. Soldier Settlement scheme blue gum cladded shearing sheds are timeless feature walls, recycled baltic pine floors came from single men quarters of mining days. The rustic iron roof from the original tank maker’s shed now cloaks the king trusses. The overburden rock from mining days encapsulates the glow and crackle from the open fireplace.

Day Breakdown:

Breakfast at DoubleTree by Hilton Hobart

Golf at 7 Mile Beach Golf Links, 18 hole

Tee time: TBA

It started with a simple belief 35 years ago: Tasmania deserved a golf course to match its natural beauty. Not hidden away, but accessible to all who love the game. Mat Goggin, professional golfer and proud Tasmanian, saw potential for incredible golf where others saw only coastal dunes.

For decades, these dunes kept their secret. A forgotten peninsula, covered with all but impenetrable plantation pine forest. But underneath lay the bones of a world-class golf course. It has been fifteen years since Mat first had a spark of inspiration that maybe, just maybe, he could build something special here.

That’s how long it took to navigate approvals, environmental considerations, and the thousand details that separate dreams from reality. Like the Tasmanian tiger that symbolises our spirit, we needed perseverance, strength and fierce determination.

Departure: Coach transfer from 7 Mile Beach Golf Club to DoubleTree by Hilton Hobart

Dinner at Rockwall Bar and Grill

15 mins walking from Hilton Hobart.

Tasmania with every sip & bite.

Rockwall Bar & Grill for freshly shucked Bruny Island oysters, grass fed Tasmanian beef, exquisite, locally produced wine's & cheese. Hand selected for exceptional quality & ethical farming practices.

Flanked by the waters of the River Derwent, Nipaluna / Hobart sits below the majestic Kunanyi / Mount Wellington. A combination of National Trust classified buildings and a modern city, Hobart offers old-world charm and a palpable sense of history.

Settled in 1803, Hobart’s sea trade and ship-building industry began to flourish in the 1830s around the warehouses of Salamanca Place. These buildings, including that which houses Rockwall, are amongst the most stunning sandstone Georgian warehouses in Australia.

Rockwall bar + grill was established in November 2008 by renown local restaurateur Susan Catchpool and former Australian Rules footballer Garry Baker.

Susan and Garry aptly recognised Hobart’s need for an establishment showcasing quality Tasmanian fare in a relaxed environment.

Opened in 2008 and quickly becoming a Tasmanian dining institution, Rockwall offers visitors and locals the opportunity to view history from the inside. This amazing warehouse has withstood the test of time and has been artfully outfitted to accommodate modern and relaxed dining; 7 days a week.
